SEBI settles regulatory proceedings against Adani Group entities over disclosure lapses
The market regulator has resolved cases linked to the Hindenburg report, concerning undisclosed related-party transactions and audit irregularities.
India's Securities and Exchange Board of India has settled enforcement proceedings against several Adani Group entities that were initiated in the wake of allegations raised by short-seller Hindenburg Research, bringing a formal close to a closely watched regulatory chapter.
The proceedings centred on two sets of concerns: alleged failures to disclose certain related-party transactions as required under market rules, and instances in which audit or limited review reports were signed by firms that did not hold a valid peer review certificate at the time of signing.
The settlement marks a significant development for the conglomerate, which has faced sustained scrutiny from investors and regulators since the Hindenburg report roiled its listed entities in early 2023.
