DoorDash to pay $131.5m over payment errors affecting 260,000 delivery workers
The food delivery giant has agreed to a multimillion-dollar settlement after a probe uncovered missing and late payments to couriers.
DoorDash will pay $131.5 million to settle an investigation into its payment practices, with the funds set to benefit more than 260,000 delivery workers affected by errors in how they were compensated.
The settlement addresses both missing and late payments made to couriers, known as Dashers, as well as a separate dispute over how on-call pay periods were calculated. The agreement resolves all outstanding claims connected to the probe.
DoorDash has acknowledged that technical errors were responsible for the payment failures and said it has since improved its payment systems to prevent similar problems from recurring.
