Fadnavis and Shinde tour drought-hit Maharashtra districts amid relief push
The visit follows the chief minister's decision to establish a dedicated subcommittee to address the worsening drought crisis.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde have travelled to drought-prone regions of Maharashtra to assess conditions on the ground, as the state government steps up its response to an intensifying agricultural crisis.
The tour follows Fadnavis's announcement of a subcommittee formed specifically to tackle the drought situation. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has been appointed to chair the panel, which will oversee relief and mitigation efforts across affected areas.
The visits by senior members of the government signal the administration's intent to respond directly to distress in rural Maharashtra, where dry conditions have raised concerns among farming communities.
