Bengal CM tells Ministers to focus on governance, not street appearances

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked her Ministers to concentrate on their designated responsibilities rather than being hyperactive on the streets, signalling a preference for governance over public theatrics within her cabinet.

The remarks came as two Ministers in particular had drawn attention for their visible street-level presence. Municipal Affairs Minister Agnimitra Paul was seen actively visiting areas under her portfolio, while Health Minister Sharadwat Mukherjee had been making rounds of hospitals across the state.

The Chief Minister's message appears to be a clear directive that effective administration, conducted from within ministerial offices and departments, should take precedence over public appearances that may be perceived as political posturing.
