Zelensky urges India to stop citizens fighting for Russia in Ukraine war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a direct warning to India and dozens of other countries, urging them to prevent their citizens from being recruited to fight on Russia's behalf in the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Zelensky appealed to at least 47 nations whose citizens are currently engaged in the conflict, calling on their governments to protect their own nationals. He accused Russia of deceiving foreign recruits into joining the war effort.

In pointed remarks directed at India, Zelensky urged the country not to allow President Vladimir Putin to draw its citizens into the fighting, warning that Russia was exploiting foreign nationals for its military campaign.
