Congress leader says he flagged Veeramani scandal to Chennai police two years ago

A Tamil Nadu Congress leader has claimed he brought allegations against Veeramani to the attention of Chennai Police well before the matter entered the public domain.

M.P. Ranjan Kumar, president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee's Scheduled Caste Department, said he visited the Chennai Police Commissionerate on 22 November 2024 and met a senior officer there. He submitted a written complaint at that meeting, calling for action against Veeramani and his associate, identified as Shanthi.
