Hungarian parliament speaker hosts Western Balkans conference in Budapest

László Kövér, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, hosted a conference of parliament speakers from Western Balkan countries in Budapest on Friday, bringing together senior legislative figures from the region for high-level talks.

Kövér addressed delegates at the gathering, which provided a forum for the heads of western Balkan parliaments to engage in dialogue with their Hungarian counterpart. Hungary has maintained active diplomatic ties with the Western Balkans and has consistently supported the region's closer engagement with European institutions.

The Budapest conference underlined the importance Hungary attaches to parliamentary diplomacy as a vehicle for strengthening relations with neighbouring countries in south-eastern Europe.
