Delhi clears 1,300 pink e-autos reserved for women and transgender drivers

Delhi has approved the allocation of 1,300 pink electric auto-rickshaws exclusively for women and transgender drivers, in a move aimed at expanding economic opportunities for underrepresented groups in the city's transport sector.

The vehicles will be distributed across Delhi's 13 revenue districts, with each district receiving up to 90 permits for women drivers and 10 for transgender persons, bringing the total to 1,300 e-autos city-wide.

The pink e-auto scheme forms part of broader efforts to increase female and transgender participation in public transport, offering a dedicated pathway into an industry long dominated by men.
