Supreme Court halts ₹5 lakh recovery order against Noida DM in NSA detention case

The Supreme Court has stayed a High Court order requiring the Noida District Magistrate to personally pay ₹5 lakh in connection with a detention case under the National Security Act, granting relief to the senior official pending further proceedings.
Appearing on behalf of the district magistrate, Medha Roopam, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi argued that detention decisions of this nature pass through several layers of official review and approval, making it unjust to single out one officer for financial punishment.
