Hungarian parliament speaker chairs Western Balkans conference in Budapest

László Kövér, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, took centre stage in Budapest on Friday as he addressed a gathering of parliamentary speakers from across the Western Balkans, underscoring Hungary's active engagement with its south-eastern neighbours.

The conference, held on 27 October 2017, brought together the heads of legislatures from the Western Balkans region in a forum designed to strengthen parliamentary dialogue and regional cooperation. Kövér delivered remarks to his counterparts at the Budapest venue, reflecting the importance Hungary places on ties with the bloc of nations seeking closer integration with Europe.
