Bengaluru's Freedom Park is set to host a protest organised by the Citizens for Justice and Peace on Thursday, with actor Prakash Raj and commentator Dhruv Rathee among those expected to attend. The demonstration centres on concerns about the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and forms part of a wider national agitation calling for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The Bengaluru event is billed as a People's Tribunal and follows several days of escalating protests across the country. In Delhi, INDIA bloc MPs have staged demonstrations for three consecutive days, with opposition lawmakers attempting to hold a large-scale rally at Jantar Mantar before being stopped by police. Several opposition leaders were detained after staging a sit-in and raising slogans demanding the poll body chief's departure.

Cases were registered against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in connection with an alleged incident of misconduct during the Delhi protests. The Union Home Ministry has approved the deployment of 110 central paramilitary force companies between 8 and 12 October in response to the continuing agitation. Organisers say the protests will not end until the electoral system is overhauled.
