India tells Pakistan at UN: terror and theatrics will not repay loans

India has delivered a sharp rebuke to Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council, with Indian diplomat Kshitij Tyagi telling the forum that neither terrorism nor theatrical posturing would help Islamabad escape its economic difficulties.

Typagi, responding directly to remarks made by the Pakistani delegation, made clear that India regarded Pakistan's conduct as a distraction from the serious financial challenges facing the country. His intervention drew an explicit link between Pakistan's foreign policy behaviour and its failure to address a mounting debt crisis.

The remarks reflect the increasingly pointed exchanges between the two neighbours at international forums, with New Delhi showing little appetite for diplomatic restraint when responding to what it characterises as bad-faith interventions by Islamabad.
