Two more key accused held after encounter in Sagar hooch tragedy; total arrests reach 39

Two more key suspects in the Sagar hooch tragedy have been arrested following an encounter with police, bringing the total number of people detained in connection with the case to 39.

One of the accused sustained a gunshot wound to the leg after officers opened fire in self-defence during the operation. Both he and a second suspect, identified as Ashish Sahu, were subsequently taken into custody.

Sagar Superintendent of Police Anurag Sujania confirmed the details of the encounter, saying police had acted in self-defence before apprehending the two men. Authorities have indicated that investigations into the tragedy are continuing.
