Delhi approves 5.5-km elevated corridor to bypass 12 junctions

Delhi authorities have granted approval for a 5.5-kilometre elevated corridor designed to help vehicles bypass twelve road junctions, in a move intended to significantly reduce traffic congestion across the affected area.

In a separate but related development, all 31 station plans prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation across its Phase I and Phase II corridors have now received clearance from the Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure Planning and Engineering Centre. The latest round of approvals covered six stations, completing the full set of plans that had been drawn up for modernisation and improvement across the metro network.
