Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Moosa killed in Budgam encounter

Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Moosa has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district, the Army confirmed. His body was subsequently recovered from the site of the operation.

A joint operation was launched by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force in the Korag area of Yousmarg, Budgam, acting on specific intelligence. The operation led to an encounter in which Moosa was neutralised.

Moosa had been identified as a wanted militant linked to the Pahalgam terror attack. His elimination marks a significant development in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign in the Kashmir Valley, where security forces have intensified operations against active militants in recent weeks.
