Road overbridge on Krishnagiri-Ranipet main road set to open in Vellore

A road overbridge being built on the Krishnagiri-Ranipet main road in Vellore town is nearing completion, bringing relief to commuters who have long contended with delays at the area's busy railway crossing.
Once operational, the overbridge will replace the existing manned railway level crossing, known as LC 128, on the Krishnagiri-Ranipet main road. Level crossings are a persistent source of traffic congestion and safety concerns, and their replacement with overbridges is considered a priority by transport planners across the country.
The completion of the structure is expected to improve traffic flow along one of the region's key arterial routes while reducing the risks associated with road and rail interactions at grade level.
