Five workers were killed and more than ten others injured when a boiler exploded at a factory inside the Sri City special economic zone in Andhra Pradesh, near Tirupati. The blast caused significant casualties at the facility, sending emergency services rushing to the site.

The state government announced an ex gratia payment of ₹50 lakh to the next of kin of each of the five deceased workers. Authorities also constituted a high-level committee to inquire into the circumstances that led to the explosion.
