Engineering student's death ruled murder; two men arrested in Uttar Pradesh

Police in Uttar Pradesh have arrested two men after determining that the death of an engineering student, Akshitarani, was not suicide but murder.

According to investigators, a man named Naveen intercepted Akshitarani near the FCI crossroads as she was returning home on September 12. He forced her into his car and allegedly compelled her to write a note falsely blaming another man, Ravi, for sexual assault.

Naveen then allegedly forced the young woman to consume pesticide, causing her death. The fabricated note had initially led investigators to treat the case as a suicide. Two arrests have now been made as the murder inquiry continues.
